FILM

Resurrected Histories is an oral history project that has been in development for nearly two years. The project highlights individuals who took part in the Chicano Art renaissance of the 70′s in Northeast L.A.’s Highland Park neighborhood. Discover the connections between North, South, and Southwest California’s Aztlan and the organizations in Highland Park. Corazon Productions, Aldama House, Mechicano Art Center, Concilio de Arte Popular, Public Art Center/Centro de Arte Publico, and Chisme Arte were all instrumental in the birth of Chicano Art in Highland Park.

We thank our partners the California Council for the Humanities, KCET, the James Irvine Foundation, and Atelier Visit for their generous support.

Also, we are grateful to Guillermo Bejarano, Barbara Carrasco, Richard Duardo, Sonya Fe, Judithe Hernandez, Leo Limon, Pauline Mesa, Patricia Parra, Joe Rodriguez, John Valadez, Victor Valle, Sybil Venegas for sharing their memories with us.

Are you interested in showing a DVD of the film in your school, your museum, or your library?
